Microsoft Ignite

A high-concept, custom convention booth design to launch LiveTiles’ Wizdom tech platform at Microsoft Ignite Orlando.

  • Launching a new product at Microsoft Ignite in Florida, LiveTiles’ exhibitor booth needed to be visually and experientially impactful as well as highly functional and ergonomic.

  • Interpreting the theme “intelligent workplace” I intended the booth to have a sense possibility and feel as it was evolving around you. To explore design concepts I initially worked hands-on with a scale maquette testing out a variety of configurations for function, form and flow. Translating the design into a 3D SketchUp model, my designers and I then tested applications of materials and colour, plotting out brand and product messaging, and designing swag and collateral.

    To maximise the 20’ x 20’ footprint I opted to use height to create presence, incorporating archways as a welcoming motif with bold applications of brand colour. The layout was configured to be highly functional and to pool the flow of people around a central demo desk to create a bustling energy.

    In production we worked with the awesome team at Divinitas who were able to bring the more ambitious concepts to life with clever enginering: the 20ft tall arch window, the transparent acrylic archway and desk. Made for re-use, the ingenious build consisted primarily of modular, ply-wood blocks that could be stored, re-skinned and repurposed for use at a later date. This made our on-site build in Florida quick, seamless and sustainable

To create presence and energy, the design incorporates bold geometry, playful curves and stimulating interactions of materiality and light .
